Another important aspect to cover is who to involve? And what criteria should be drawn on to inform this decision?

It is important also to question the usual ‘stakeholders matrix’ based on influence and power that has been often used (see below), and as a result reflect upon the kind of stakeholders who might then be left out because of their potentially reduced visibility. For instance, minority ethnic groups, single mothers, elderly residents, more-than-human stakeholders...?

How do you decide on who to target for involvement in a particular research project and is there a risk that (for example) the timing, location, type, language and/ or duration of individual research activities results in an (unintentional) filtering of participants? What steps have you taken or would you suggest to others to try and increase the accessibility of a research project to a fuller range of stakeholders?
