Poetry - There Will Be Cloudgasms
Finally, to start this Unit with a good omen, we would like to invite you to listen to the following excerpt from the monologue 'There Will Be Cloudgasms' by Lucy Aphramor. If you want, you can share on the common platform (via the comments icon at the top) what sensations and thoughts the poem triggers. Or you can share a favourite poem of yours as well! Just remember to make sure it is open access if you are sharing the whole. Alternatively please share the title, poet and your favourite line.

Place your hands on the earth // fill with stillness // we are sediments of place // mosaics of bugs and silicone, acid, electric, mineral jangled amalgamations of this agentic and transcendent land Hail Earth! may your venerated deities sanction rad entanglements
I want to hear the trees speak
arrange our complications of veins, scars, cambium in conversation
when they leafily laugh I will bud goosebumps and clap back twigging at last for the moment I visit every Wednesday and feel sap rising, leave upheld Praise be old oak
Listen to those who have always dressed themselves in their honest bodies
who called you by your name before the latest iterations
call them spirit-led elders visionaries witch plant-whisperer poet crone remember the ancients intact, give thanks to those who have passed queerdos change-agents seed-keepers shape-shifters fools herbalists doulas healers honour the powers who have had our backs - Praise be for our imbrication in sky-writing and spells malleus incus stapes hex hex hex malleus incus stapes hex hex hex malleus incus stapes hex hex hex I’m telling you healing is for real and so is violence, your wound is not the deficit keep the poem afloat
