Welcome to our Care-full Scholarship MOOC
Welcome to this Care-full scholarship MOOC! This course has been created with the ambition of enabling participants to critically and reflexively engage with the subject matter of care-full scholarship, and more broadly its conceptual underpinning of Feminist Care Ethics (FCE), as part of an international learning community with transformative flavour.
This freely accessible and change-orientated open educational resource is aimed at prompting critical discussion, exchanges of ideas, and sharing of examples of care-full practice.
Combining bite-sized academic summaries, inspiring contributions from a range of guest contributors, and a series of both individual and group, digital and offline reflexive exercises, it will support you to take the first, or next steps, in your care-full scholarship journey.
With its design directly informed by the transformative pedagogy of Theory U and the collaborative principles of a connectivist MOOC (both of which will be further introduced in this and subsequent Units), this MOOC is intended to be highly interactive. It is suitable both for learners with a pre-existing understanding of care theory, and those who may be encountering it for the first time.
Whilst many of the authors, guest contributors and original case study examples have been sourced from the social and cultural fields of sustainability science, the MOOC has been created and curated to be of interest to learners from a wide range of academic disciplines and also those located outside of academia.
